Plein air oil painting of the view from camp in Inyo National Forest. I painted this alla prima, following the shade. I worked on the mountains in the morning, then moved directly under the one tree in the afternoon. The wind picked up with intense gusts, during which I had to close my eyes against all the sand blowing into my face, while grit stuck to the wet mountains. 3/16″ wood panel.
